just finished the ball's physics for the next version - it's now some real physics calculation and not just something madeup to get some effect... so unless david makes some crazy settings, the balls trajectory and rebound will be more realistic :)

Good stuff. I always felt the ball was too floaty.

Just for the record, thc65 is the most used pub server in europe as far as know.

And since h is out I increased the slots to 12 and I have not installed VO mutator in h. Thus your are now seeing 6on6.....

VO really sux on big maps or when to many player are on small maps

UT2Vote is running on the server up to 8 players can vote for small maps, more then 8 can just vote big maps.

I received many mails, aksed to enable VO again, so I tried to make VOMutator votable via UT2Vote.

But that seems to be not working and I don't take care about it anymore.

I leave the server now as it is, may i will switch back to 3vs3 + VOMutator without UT2Vote sometime.

But I don't know it yet, maybe the server goes down next month anyway.

----
The main problem I see in i and probablyin later versions is that the matches on pubs become more and more unbalanced.

You have just 2 guys in a team with a 8 way wheel, they will smash down the other team without that mouse.

You should consider that pickups games will always be more teambased,
in pubs you have just a bunch a player joing who don't care about that.

The server is on a big root box, it's not rent by me alone. If the root box goes away the server goes down.....

What's up? I already talked to you and you said you will switch back to 3vs3 (maybe 4on4 is ok too) VO. But nothing happened yet? Why? Did you receive any mails to NOT switch back? Waht is it what makes you hestitate? You could even switch back to 2.4i without this fucking up/down curve. The most people are playing on your server. No. Your server is the only one where are some public players. So whatever you do there will be always some people joining your server. But to my mind you should set the settings the majority wants. And thats definitely VO (only only only only!).
So hurry now pls so we can enjoy playing Deathball more than before.

I fail to see what the rush is.... one v with a new untested concept an u think people are never gonna play db again ?

u shud leave it at least till the next version before u make any changes to the server

only problem with the server atm is the SC spam... which isn't a vo problem, its a pub problem.... 3v3 is the only reasonable amount to play sc with...

whats worse is it'll go to 4v4.... no1 votes a bigger map.... 5v5....no1 votes... 5v6, a few more vote :P . By the time the map changes ur down to 4v4 again

There should be a VO server for 3v3 SC (cud be THC).... it makes sense because this handful of problematic vo players can poison the regular pub play which could take place on another server...

Why we only usually have one server to play on is beyond me... :S

On the other hand u cud just switch to 3v3 vo and we cud play reg on that gameservers TV1 with the crap map voting and 26 goal limit, and endless timer..... hmmm maybe not

6on6 regular running on the server...and its packed full. people have no reason to send mails...because it's just the way they want it. No reason to go down to 3on3.

New Limit on TV1 is 30 minutes, no goal limit.
