http://www.last.fm is actually pretty cool

Not only do you get to see a list of songs/albums you've played for a minimal sacrifice of resources and bandwidth, you also get to know people with similar music tastes, which - in combination with the excellent tagging engine - allows the website to offer you relevant advice regarding bands you might want to listen to.

It's not very exact for me atm, so I'm disregarding their tips on the Libertines and shit (just because I listened to the Arctic Monkeys' album), but in a while I'm hoping for some nice 'neighbours' and advice from them
