So what you are saying is that my opinion on deathball would only be reasonable if I didn't play it?
no i didnt say that.
why exactly do you think those official judges are unbiased?
whats their interest in support some mods instead of others?
plus, DB is a great mod as we all know. But it only has one gametype, The Skins still need much work as well as the menus and stuff. and i could go on...

and the DB community members/developers are certainly not.
I am a db community member. Therefore you are calling me biased.

having a vested interest in a mod is not the only way the judges can be biased.
A more likely way of introducing bias is by not sufficiently playing a mod to appreciate it strengths and weaknesses.
How do we know that the judges didn't load up DB for 30min, messed about with it and came to the conclusion that's its 'just like Bombing Run but without weapons'. Superficially unWheel looks like more of a transformation than DB. But that does not make it better.

You must also not forget that this is all to get more attention to Epic and the Unreal series, that's why they keep screaming about the ONE MILLION DOLLARS.
So obviously wouldn't it be boring if DB just kept winning?

This is way better publicity and everything
DB in fifth place still seems too low though o_O
Meh..whatever

you can't argue about taste, I guess (except when talking to people who listen to Britney Spears o_O or Korn

you just have to keep trying >_< they'll grow up some day)..
Anyway, anyone have any idea what DB has actually earned so far?

A couple of dollars and some not-too-great computer?
I have no idea

If you judge a mod you don't just look at the replay vailue of it, theres several sides to it.
Maps: Just one map being played, which I personally find crappy, but thats just me.
Weapons: Also one weapon.
Use of any special stuff: ??
looking at this alone makes the...car...racing...thingy maybe even better.
but Xcalon.....don't think so >_>

At the end of the day David you dont need a crappy award to tell you that the mod you made is great. The fact that there are people (myself for instance) who are stiill playing it almost two years after you made it. This alone proves it has the longivity that i predict every other mod in the msu contest lacked.
DB gives something, not sure what, but it just makes you want to come back and play it, even when youve promised yourself youve "left the scene"
Ignore the contest David, your player base should be all the confirmation you need:
The mod you made is THE best mod for the unreal engine, bar none, you know it, we all know it.

Ya, we sorta know it. Im suprised by the amount of uninspired stuff thats been done a dozen times in the mod category.
But this doesn't get us far tho....

It happened, it's bullshit (imo), but there's no point in keep whining about it.
Better luck next time. (= some mentally healthy judges)
