one problem no one has said is that the quality of the servers play an even bigger role. when RusH played TEZC those few times, i noticed that their pings on our server were about 30 ms lower than our pings on their server. This could also work in reverse if an american team has a server in western US. Not sure what could be done about it, just making people aware of this potential problem.

How about this:

After every international game, a record is kept of the average ping for each team.

This is totalled up for every team till the end of the league.

At the end of the league the team with the lowest overall ping is rated as the 'base level' ping and all others are rated as the difference from the base ping.

This is converted into a handicap system so that those with the higher average ping over the run of the league are given bonus points or something eg every extra 100ms = 1 league point

Or we could just play for fun... O_o

no, would be awful
we thought about it long ago
would look awful, a keeper misses a ball by far but catches it, same for all other things

demo's completely fucked up etc.

An actual international league would be nice. It would prevent N.American teams from having to use aliases and make up fake clans so they can compete and try to move up.

Although I heard that DavidM said it was ok for a team to compete in both American and Euro ladder?

Ya, it's their problem!
They would need to play every single match with bad pings.

Not exactly David.. Whoever is home team, chooses the server. If there was a N.Am team in there, they could easily choose a server in say.. Virginia, USA or worse yet, California! Then the Euro team would be at a severe disadvantage. Any non-euro located team in the league could potentially have a .500 record by ping crippling the away team every time.

Hmm. Are you sure? The season has started already and the published league rules are here: http://www.deathball.net/db-league/inde ... teamadmin=
I've been through them many times since I first lobbied Bazzi to flesh them out a bit more more and I see no mention of what you just said.
