Look at all those humans who fight in wars, just as an example. When you ask them why they fight, they will surely answer, for their country, for values etc.
But when you ask why they fight the way they actually do while they could choose another, peaceful way, they will tell you that they do it because someone told them to do so. They aren't more than tools. They do what their boss said and don't listen to their own mind.
They have some untouchable territory in their mind they don't dare to enter. Like you.
