What are the requirements to beta test 2.1?

In other words can a dirty unwashed filthy ungroomed n00b like me help beta test? :noob: I have experience. I officially participated in a closed beta test of Star Trek Starfleet Volume 2: Empires at War. I signed a non-disclosure agreement and everything.

Awww, you've got to get beta testers to sign an NDA. It will make them feel important. ;)

Ah, just played a botmatch and found two sure fire ways to do this from the back with not too much effort.

Note this was with bots, and it's harder with them because they just pass as soon as they get it :< so you have to plan that ahead too ;)

Anyway:

1) Jump three times, fall away from pass direction, volley with the side of your aimcone 8)

It's pretty hard to aim with this, but not hard to do, and still pretty much equally effective, not easy from all angles, but definitely possible from the back.
Easier to do when looking at the ball first (but requires 180)

2) Jump 2 or 3 times, wait for pass, crouch under the ball and volley 8)
Easy does it.

Then there's a 3rd way by just walking, waiting for a pass, then doing 2 jumps and volley (but this is less effective because it'll pretty much always have to touch the ground before going towards goal)

This is all possible from the back, and should be possible with the new pass code, though I don't know if the 3rd one is really relevant to all of this since it's pretty different.
Note that this all was done with a pass from relatively far away (keep to pzone-hanger on db-smallcube), so it might not be exactly the same as the current jump-over-it-thing..meh..

If I understand DavidM correct, a pass at the 3rd jump will only be higher, making it still possible to fall and move around it, and if that would cause you to go too low, you will always have another jump anyway 8). If you use the crouching thing, you might not even have to crouch (you could also consider letting it go by, then jumping after it has gone by).

ps: Holy_Surfing calls that 3rd one the 'underdog' or '180 underdog' :p;):D

Best way I find to volley when the ball is coming from behind you is to jump once, hold right-mouse and look at the floor, bouce the ball infront of you, then volley it wherever you like ;)…can be difficult at first, but a bit of practice makes it easier.

That takes too much time f1end ;)

So easy to intercept as the ball will be bouncing in front of you for some time before you volley it 8)

it does????

(It used to be, b4 dave took out the hammer delay between bounce and volley ;) but now u can pretty much do it straight away :D)

it's way too easy to execute for the attackers, let's add a little skill to it. It's annoying me for a half year+.
All the pseudo-good players (those who think they are any good), running to enemy pbox, jumping, hitting their bind ( ]=*=Pass Me on Third Jump, I are leet whore with cheap move=*=[ )....
it's so piss poor...

its much more relaxing to volley first fire passes, just the pass giver needs to do a better job
