"i think the team play is extremely limited right now, i don't think one player should be able to win a game, it should have to be a team game, obviously one or two players have to pull off a pretty damn good play to score but besides that it should be completely a team game with that team being made by players with strong team skill, not a team being made by one strong individual."

I dunno, I'm very happy with most of death ball other then the greedy little fuckers who miss goals because the predictability they will self volly.
it is deffiantely alot like hockey I think, and I also thing there is alot of individual effort.
knowing when to boost an enemy player so you can steal his pass. blocking passes etc.
now just because you can show j00r l337 sk1||z - by dribbling the ball which acts more like a bug being exploited then a skill and go coast to coast to score all by yourself. doenst mean there is no individual effort. what about the one individual who knows when to pass it back to the point then to take a shot from a bad angel thats obviously covered. or the one individual who can set up anyone on the team for a perfect volly.
maybe some people are just mad they're not on the top of the list anymore because there only skill was selfish style of playing. as a team player. i'd love to see a point system if one is to be kept the same as say, hockey... both goal and assists are worth ONE point. so its just as good for you to pass it to a team mate and let him score then to do it yourself.

Inph those are the individual skills that DB lacks.
on SoP our offense was me, ATB, Sabi, HooDa, K96 and a few other guys.. anyhow to get to the point we all had slightly different styles.
Me and Sabi were the 2 main shooters, HooDa and ATB were the volley whores and K69 was the 1 shot-wonder. Since 1.5 we've all been forced to change our styles to be almost strictly volley whores because of the stupid hammer range and pbox campers. This was NOT a good thing for out team. Since K69 has quit, i never play, HooDa only plays what league games we even bother playing. Not too sure on ATB and Sabi's positions but we lost all offensive depth since 1.5
As far as secondary roles we all helped each other and knew the others strengths and weaknesses. These strengths were tested in 1.5 and failed us every time. The only 2 who really liked 1.5s play style were HooDa and ATB because what they did well still worked.
Now, as an example to waht i mean is imagine there was an FPS game where there was 1 weapon you were good with out of a very limited selection (in this case only about 4) and you wernt as good with the others. This is what happened to us and many others offensivly in DB. We were doing fine in the league untill 1.5 was introdiced. This is not cause of others got better or we stopped playing. Its because we lost our weapons and dont want to go to the trouble of relearning a dying game as far as i'm concerned.
I cant quite tell you exactly why this happened or how but i am damn sure that reverting back to 1.4b or a very close version to it would solve a lot of peoples problems with gameplay.
1.4b with curve shots, sprint, the new gun and no dribble would be a perfect game as far as i'm concerned. Changing gameplay aspects hurts games because people are used to them and decide to stop caring when you change things. Maybe thst why CS patchs take months and months to come out and never drastically change unless absolutly necessary.

SoP defender Cormega is a VEEEERY competative person and basically joined SoP to be on a winning team when DB first came araound. Even as we speak hes retired from Db and he plays defense. I dont know why, i dont care why, but he played Defense. Nothing is frustrating on D, its become simpler from patch to patch. I think he was probably getting bored of it.
thats too bad cause i looked up to cor and rip heh i love tha way they play D with fat skins:) owell just add dribble and we are back to fun ball again

suppose there is more than just irony in this then. cuz i am a defender, and i believe a damn good one. but what *I* think is wrong is that its frustrating as hell to defend. not even slightly fun.
you have ppl flying past you cuz of the ghey ass boost, i cant even catch them cuz everyone whined about sprint, and everyone is a volley whore, so i have no choice but to camp the box. which is boring as fuck.
nerf the volley and nuke boost, force sprint (still needs refinement though) and i think we will have a great game once again.

BUT at the same time, ppl chunking balls 40yards at the wall and running to it IS abusive and that is what needs to be stopped.
i think walls made like my anti-volley whore smallcube would promote much better play in this game

Loosing the ability to dribble was good for alot of the games i seen, but this was back when boosting was hardly used or by accident. think back to 1.4, not meby used boost at all causing dribblers to get easy leads. all this boosting nowdays could stop a dribble attacker in what 4-5 seconds?
whoever said about lowering boosting above has a good idea and i thought about this the other week looking at these posts. you know how (atm) a keeper has only 2 jumps right, what about if you get boosted or hit by shield cannon (new guns hammer) blast your quad jump cuts to 2, meaning one boost and one air jump, half the distance.
4 jump with boost gets you in cube from the pbox area to the ball in the middle and sometimes one jump more towards the goal if its a good clean boost. with only one available jump in the air no boost could get you to the half way mark. only about 1/3rd of cube instead of 2/3rds. how does that sound?
i have no problems with most of the other things, volley radius seems fine even for keeper, if im in goal i manage to whack a few power shots away cleanly and i dont even play keeper!, one thing that does piss me off alot though is "ball reset"s where someones shoots it out of the field instead of pass, smallcube is the worst for this having its vo games and all.
