Only when all three signs are clear, then separate the gem from the rest of the body, select a large, healthy tree and put me down near its roots. I will then grow some roots myself and let them reach into the tree. You should watch this process and take care that nobody disturbs it. The gem will grow until it opens and a miniature version of myself will appear. You should feed me then. I will need lot of meat!

Fried or raw?

Raw, preferably. You know, I can build animal and plant cells out of my native cells, but only when I have enough of them. But in the growing process, I'm just re-creating them as well. I get plant material from the tree, so I need to get animal material by eating meat. Make sure you have access to that before you start the process, will you? I hate being hungry!

Feeling hungry is not nice. This is something I don't allow myself to feel anymore. It is easier to forbid than pain, for example. And not feeling thirst is almost impossible. *nods* I will check for a source of meat then. Will you need water, too?

No, the tree will give me that. I won't be able to do much or even to remember anything in this state, and I will probably need protection. I'll grow rapidly, you can probably watch it. When I'm strong enough, I'll eat the shards of my old gem and fall asleep. When I awake, I'll be myself again. *smiles* It is not that complicated.

*nods* Yes. I just need to find out where to find meat. Meat was rare where I grew up, just sometimes one of the guys shared his food with one of us. Other than that, we had mainly potatoes and some vegetables. Sometimes eggs. But I don't know where they got all that from. They said, potatoes grow in soil, but I've never seen that. And they didn't tell me where eggs grow.
