Well, "adult" is not a very specific hint, there are countries where you have to be at least 21 to be considered adult, and then there are countries where you're already considered adult at the age of 16 or even earlier

well here you actually have to be 21 to be considered as an independent and "major" person (and therefore be able to buy alcohol
