Ball smoke

Ball smoke off: A slight disadvantage in my opinion. Passes don't trail and thus are harder to see.
Ball smoke on: Passes trail an easy to see green smoke effect. This same effect looks poor when mixed with the red and blue trails of team hammered or powered balls.
Possibility: Remove smoke and assign team color trails to passes.
Better possibility?: Make the ball smoke the owners team color. The ball is owned by a team until, a member of the other team touches the ball. The ball smoke could have a different shade of blue/red that mixes well and enhances the hammered/powered trails. Passes would have a colored trail via the smoke effect..
Possibilities built on the above. The ball, or part of the ball, also is team owner colors.
Note: The ball ring should not have team colors.

Wouldn't it look better if a different shade of red replaced the green smoke? {hud concept by priior- the hud thread}

the smoke is coming from the force field rings (dunno the exact technical details

)
and it wouldnt help gameplay at all to have it in teamcolor, no?

to have the smoke teamcolour of who has posesion maby, like how the trail is coloured.
then an idle ball could have the tradisional green / yellow smoke. i dunno.
have to say though yellow did suit the trail and rings nicer.

I don't really like the smoke trails, so I just turn them off.

Gameplay - just if you have ball smoke turned off. No trail on passes is a disadvantage.
It looks more like the smoke comes from the ball. When the ball is still, the smoke is all around the ball. When moving, it a narrow trail, centered on the ball.
Anyway, it's a look thing. I think it could look much better. The green smoke trail on passes looks good in my opinion. However, it doesn't mix well with red or blue. The old smoke didn't either. The current green, stands out even more against the red/blue than the old smoke did.
As your moving forward with this mod, look at the picture and think of the possibilities. I think a well designed team ball skin, either team colored or part team colored, trailing the team color trail and smoke trail would enhance the visual look. If the smoke in the picture is a shade of red - it mixes well and enhances the other red trail. It also would make passes team colored but with a different look.
The current picture, which represents what's seen in game play, lacks smooth flow. The ball, hammer/powered trail, and smoke should flow together. {Red/Blue rings would flow together much better but, at the expense of gameplay, so that's a no}
My vision of the picture: A dark red/maroon colored metal ball (gray in the pic) which looks like it powered (green part of the ball - red color and designed to look like the ball has an energy source. Or leave it green to look like it makes the rings). The red ball leaves a red streak and smoke trail as it flies. In the end, the only thing that doesn't flow in the picture, and in game, would be the green rings. So be it, the rings are needed for gameplay. The rest would all fit together well.

I don't see the problem when you know what's going on in the game? ^^;
Never had a problem with any of this :> I just turn smoke off anyway.

It's not a problem really. It's the visual. The current stuff looks funny and out of place. It could look better.

I get where u are going with this Twigstir. In my oppinion i think the ball should stay gray but have the little center (green now) changed to the hitting team, yet have the cloud (green) changed to a
very faint green (from the rings)as a stream as it is now, but have a cloud the color of the hitting team (from the energy boost) around the ball. It wouldnt be much of a change anyways but hey might as well make the game perfect.
