There was a well posh restaurant that had a big fish tank in the middle of it where customers could select the fish that they wanted to eat. After selection, the fish would be taken to the celebrated master chef, Gervaise, for preparation.
In this tank there lived a squid; a special type of squid that was a light green colour and it also had a moustache.
Now, being unappetisingly light green and sporting a moustache, the squid had been left uneaten for a few years and had become a bit of a favourite amonst the restaurant staff.
Until one day, when one of the restaurant's most regular customers decided that he wanted Kalamari (that's squid BTW) and he wanted it made out of the green, moustachio-ed squid.
The squid was duly caught and taken to Gervaise in the kitchen.
With his chopping knife poised over the squid, Gervaise caught a baleful look in the squid's eye and realised he just couldn't do it, the green squid being so popular amongst the staff.
Knowing that this was supposed to be a dish for a valued customer Gervaise called over to the German washer-upper, Hans, to come and finish the squid off.
Hans comes over, raises the cleaver, catches the look in the squid's eye and.......just hasn't got the heart to do it!
And it just goes to show....
...that Hans that does dishes is as soft as Gervaise with lime-green hairy lip squids!
