Technical Assistance?

So... I'm not entirely sure what happened, but it seems that I can no longer start DB... This started on beta 2 or 3, and continues to beta 5... YES, I have deleted the DB folder, but it still won't work. I can play base UT2004 and things like Alien Swarm just fine... are there any files OUTSIDE of the DB folder that get created that might need to be deleted? I'm not really sure what else it could be or what else I'd need to do... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(No DB makes me go  )

i'm half asleep, so if im right, its completely a fluke or im just a genius

anywho

a few weeks ago, after the patch came out for ut2004, people were havin the same problem, and had to do a UT2004.ini modification. I dont know if that problem was resolved or not, but you might want to use search and check for that (i know Imaginos wrote it up somewhere, but i have no idea where it's at)

check your ut2004\system folder if you have deathball files there
if so.....kill em
then use the exe you offer, and install it into the ut2004 folder
then use the play deathball cmd file

I checked ut2004\system for things that start with d... but my system folder is pretty crowded, and that's all I'd be able to spot. What other files would get put there?

Are you really that lazy that you can't just reinstall UT? I mean come on, it's only 5 CDs ;)

Reinstalling really isn't much of an option... I've got a metric crapload of mods n maps I've downloaded. I did get the SE of UT2004... but it would just be a nightmare trying to get back all the stuff I've tacked on. =(

Oh and here's the error I get...

Well if you've got a big enough hard drive you could just install another UT2004 \o/ That'd be like 10gb

That still doesn't help with all the things I've downloaded...

That error reminds me of a situation where I had some broken .u -file in my UT folders. Seems like you should remove some tennis .u file ?! (History: UClass::Bind <- (Class Tennis.Tennis_ShieldGun) )
