when i go on db i hit the internet button and i see CTF games and DM games. not 1 db....when i try to connect via ip or friends list i dl the map and mapvote and then it says package deathball version mismatch... i have the latest patch from epic too... tried some troubleshooting, with deleting cache, reinstalling db etc etc... dunnno what to do

This was the browser fix in beta #4 ... if you didnt delete the ini or somethin b4 installation of #5, maybe that's why it doesnt work. Just try doin this.

Open your ut2004\deathball\system\deathballuser.ini
look for this....

[GUI2K4.UT2k4ServerBrowser]
bStandardServersOnly=False
CurrentGameType=Onslaught.ONSOnslaughtGame

The last line has to say:
CurrentGameType=Deathball.DB_Deathball

Save it and run. Fixed

version mismatch = server has different version than you
Servers are not updated to the latest version by default...

This also happens when the server is running the new beta patch from Epic and you're not. Wait til the patch is more stable.. and test your install by connecting to other servers as well.

thanks david, i would of never been able to think of that myself...

bounty thanks alot for that fix... now i can atleast see servers, but still have a problem, i joined one of the servers that said it had ver 5 on it and still said it had a deathball package version mismatch... not sure what to do again

kill the db folder, reinstall db

Delete all db related files not in \Ut2004\deathball\

Whoops.. I forgot to keep the chat history. We fixed him up last night.
