I was looking for a "How To" on how to setup a Deathball server for someone who has never hosted a UT2004 server of any kind.

I would also like tips and general advice, including steps you have to take for UTvote etc.

Check out Unreal Admin for guides on setting up unreal servers, dedicated or otherwise.

With some help from their tutorials I now have a dedictaed server, running Jailbreak, Vehicle invasion and all community packs.

Also this post deals with some on the DB issues.

HTH.

You're in the right company then. Please do your homework and thoroughly familiarize yourself with the admin tutorials on unrealadmin.org. Then, once you know exactly what admining a dedicated server entails, and also what it takes to run a GOOD server, you'll be well prepared to decide if it's what you want to do. UT2004 server hosting isn't cheap. (hoo boy!) So give it careful thought before you invest cause the novelty wears off pretty fast when you're footing a bill.

Also, I'm on the UT2Vote beta team, so we're more than happy to help with that as well.

Already have a server, and have had it for a long time, but it runs Raven Shield now. Since alot of our clan has gotten hooked on DB we are thinking of switching the server toi DB, because there are only like 2 good USA DB servers.
