true, png is perfect for this stuff, without many colors
png is the best for flat stuff and text etc

gif has the same quality, but its way larger

The IE percent here is quite low, coz we're all geeks 'n' shit. I've seen IE usage as high as 92% on sites where the users aren't into computers.

IE might be flawed (just like Windows) but anything is better than that mess of a browser Netscape Navigator - which can't render shit.
