ut2004 bots worse than 2003???

Maybe it's just me, but I just downloaded the version of DB for ut2004, and found that rather than getting better, the bots have gotten worse. For example, they used to choose a player, and cover that player when they had nothing better to do, now they all just seem to line up in front of the person with the ball, making easy passes to other team mates, they also don't seem to like passing the ball as much as they used to, I'v had the goaly happily run out of the goal, half way accross the pitch and throw it to another player, when instead they could have kept the goal gaurded, and simply thrown it to a player right next to em. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but the bots for 2004 don't seem to give as much of a challenge or realistic game as the 2003 version.
Did anyone else have this experience, or am I just odd...
ohh, and while I'm at it, what is the difference between the ut2004 version and UT2003, so far they seem the same. (not that thats a bad thing

Actually I think the bots play MORE realistically now. Before the bots were making ludicrously frequent passes back and forth, they randomly volleyed incoming passes a lot more, and the defense was far more static. Now they are prone to making mistakes more often which adds a bit more realism to it, in my opinion.

The lining up "feature" will be fixed.

hmm, i agree in some aspect of matches, but using bots i only have it as training, keep training blah,
not beeing big headed im like 3 times better than a bot, to me, there useless.
to make it more interest, yea make them do what they did on 2k3 with there leet volleying and keeping.

Err, I always play the bots on godlike, and although imo at that level especially the keep shud be much better..they're still not all that easy to play
I hardly find myself satisfied as I have to do cheap shots a lot that go in through the luck of buggy bots (and although that would be less true if teamies would actually time passes better), and I often also find their absolute correctness and accuracy (intended misses aside :s) astounding and annoying.
Needless to say bots hardly ever win, regardless of team number..but bots are a hard thing to code I can imagine, as some actions, especially timing etc., can be near impossible to code.
Keeping that in mind, I'm very satisfied with bots.
They might not satisfy me in a botmatch really..but they are excellent for noobs to represent general playing-style in DB presentated among a pretty good progressive skill-ladder.
gg makush anyway

Yes, like standard UT Deathmatch bots, DB bots don't stand against a veteran. However, they are not finished, so get off my back already.

Anyway there are limits like CPU power that prevent creating perfect (as human veteran) bots, so I'm not gonna promise anything, especially because there really is no huge demand for better bots.

But they gotta work properly when we introcude the planed singleplayer mode, which will also be fun for veterans, because its different and introduces motivating features
but in the end you are one person with 4 bots

idd, they do follow u like a lost sheep, n like messy said they aint easy to play with.
they are very good for noob's and trying to figure out shooting in a corner full pelt (keeps always seem to save em anyway, not a veteren).
i would like to see 1v1 bot in trainingcourt actually attacking me, whenever i seem to join a botmatch, they go keep, i wanna keep!

Bots are boost happy and never mistime anything. Still, they're getting better all the time and are good practice for beginners. They don't help me practice defending mind... :p

Would be nice to configure the bots as in:
- Skill: noob/average/skilled/pro/veteran
- Behaviour: passer/normal/ego
- Agressiveness: never boost / average boost / always boost (enemies)
- Teamplay: never boost / average boost / always boost (teammates)
- Volleyness - no volleys / some volleys / lots of volleys
- And so on
And ofcourse, being able to actually make bot clans/teams so you can play against/with them.
And an option when you start an instant action:
Match Type - public / pickup / clan
public has random bots, pickup has semi-random non-noob bots, clan has teams/clans.

Yup..that's just about how I think TV would be planning their singleplayer mode?
