Installing Deathball on a Linux Server

HELP :noob:

Hi people have been asked to install Deathball on our clans UT2004 server and am struggling.

I got it all going on UT03 easily by just chucking all the files in with the main server files and then we switch to Deathball using the Webadmin, didn't even bother putting serverpackages in (stopped non DB people downloading stuff they didn't need).

On UT04 the readme says it must go in a subfolder called "deathball" but obviously webadmin is not listing the new gametype.

I am sure I have gone horribly wrong somewhere, help ::Pfffff::

So far I have added the following to the ini and just stuffed the files in the subfolder of the server.

Code: Select all

Paths=../Deathball/System/*.u
Paths=../Deathball/Maps/*.ut2
Paths=../Deathball/Music/*.ogg
Paths=../Deathball/Sounds/*.uax
Paths=../Deathball/StaticMeshes/*.usx
Paths=../Deathball/Textures/*.utx
I need it setup so when the server is booted up it loads ONS as normal, and then when people join they don't have to have Deathball installed to play the normal game types. And then when we need it just login to webadmin and switch the game type.

Thanks very much
:p

I have copied all the files into the UT04 folders instead of the Deathball sub folder, and it seems to work... well theres an option in the webadmin for it. Just need a DB player to test it out.

Thanks anyway :blabla:

A few things to worry about there. When you copied the files to the traditional folders, don't overwrite the ut2004's default.ini with the deathball one.

BTW, the method you're using is the same one I use.
