I read something written here already and ask Samur without any success

Ok i installed ut2004->works
i patched Ut-->works
i installed Deathball --> not working

After the ut2k4 intro ended the screen stays black, with ESC it is possibvle to come to the serverbrowser(which does not list Deathball)
If i press ESC and reconnect UT quits with


Can't find file for package 'Deathball'

edit: tried with samurs installer and zip file, same result

Hmmm. Just to make sure, it would probably be best to remove deathball from your system completely and then use Samur's installer from this "clean slate".

i.e.
rm -R deathball/
rm -R ~/.ut2004/deathball/

(exchange deathball for Deathball if appropriate)

That way you'd be sure that none of the previous attempts to fix DB have messed up the config (like I had before). Also, you have downloaded the latest version of the installer with the fix in it, right?

Then hopefully you can run deathball with the included executable script and it should work fine.

Can't find file for package 'Deathball'

well this is obvious, aint it?

deathball.u missing, not in the folder in which it is expected

and to make sure, have no deathball files in ut2004\system

we've tried this together...i've got no problems, on gargamel's machine isn't working

he gets this error with my installer and also with the official zip after fixing it (its basically the same)

Well there are no DB files in the ut2004/system, but if i copy the deathball.u there, he quits with the error, cant find dbvoicepack, so it seems, he is not looking in the right directory.

I made this more than once Night not working, but thank you anyway

edit: i tried it now, if i install db like in ut2003, copy all dbfiles in the ut2004main directorys and not in an db subdir, it seems to be working ( i am in the menu havent tried to play a game yet)

Isnt this a bit strange

well, your installtion is just totally screwed. it cant find a single file it seems....
just reinstall?

reinstalled yesterday about 10times
always the same result

well, i only know that your ut aint finding the files
something must be in wrong folders or you start it the wrong way or something
