Been looking for a new graphics card, nothing shiny mind you, trying to fetch something for a low price and I thought I'd give ati radeon 9600xt a try.

So, my real question is if the price is acceptable from this store, it goes for approx 175 euros.

Wee it's about £10 pounds more than you'd pay for it from the same store (.co.uk) over here, that's kinda odd. ^^

Couldn't you up your budget a bit more and get a 9800 pro? They're far more future proof and you can get them for 204 euros. If not, 9600 XTs are solid enough and should be able to play Doom 3 at medium, 800x600 well.

The reason for it being more expensive here depends on our sky-high taxes I guess :p and I thought about 9800 too.. but I simply can't afford it =( would that price on the swedish site be acceptable though?

solution to euro taxes on high priced items:

have someone order them for you in the US then send it to you.. shipping only costs ~$20-30 which a LOT less then your paying for the VAT. All the shipper would have to do is write the value of the product than say it was a sale with a value of $0 (they do this if you repair something to avoid duty).
