They are qualifications for 16 year olds or year 11 at school. First real exams you ever sit in the UK and after them you can choose to leave school or continue education.

My sister got A* In religion ... wtf
A in english lit ...
D in science and maths (shes not too bright)
and some other random results that I cant remember. *yay*

I got 1 A*, 4 A's, 3 B's a C and a D. But I did sit my exams in 1998...:p

back in my day (1996), we didn't have A*s...
personally all the new grade did was devalue old GCSEs and added a new top grade which totally defeats the object of an 'A' grade.
(7A's 2B's here btw

well i got my GNVQ i think higher

science results,
unit 2 = 65% merit (B i think)
unit 4 = 55% Pass (C i think) (these are the exams, rest is coursework)
pass = 40% 4 people who aint done gnvq.
