I too played it with sound right up and the lights off. The game didn't really scare me as such,
but it certainly gave me some nasty suprises from time to time. It really keeps you on your toes.

the first 35 minutes suprised me, but after that it wasnt really suprising. I play most of my games in the dark because it means i can fall asleep in my chair without getting up to turn the light off.

I really must get that game i usually dont find anything like games/movies scary but ive been told Doom 3 will scare the **** out of me :s
