Help me with firefox <3

mkay, I use firefox (yay for me) and till yesterday I was pretty happy with it.

Howeverrrrrrr, I turn on firefox, type in forums..........nothing comes up.
I try forums.gameservers.net........nothing comes up.

Now, apparently, the option remember visited pages for the last XX days doesn't mean it kills every URL you haven't used for XX days in a row, but instead just kills EVERYTHING once every XX days.

That option alone makes me want to go back to IE, because I don't like it if I need something remotely important and my entire history gets whiped.

So, the question: Any way to turn that off/change it/whatever.

Oh, and don't tell me to set it to 9999 days or whatever, cause that makes on chaotic and BIG ass history folder.

Hm... I set mine to 0 (so it stores no history) and it works fine? Unless you on about something else...

Well, I WANT a history, just don't want it to disapear every 20 days. (including quick-filling in the URL bar).

So when *do* you want it to disapear?

Like IE, the links are gone if they aren't frequently used.

my take on this is that, if you visit a page every XX days, you might as well have a link in your bookmark toolbar instead of typing it in every time.

if you *really* don't like this feature, go to http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ and submit it as a History bug. User feedback is key to the mozilla projects, so go and tell them how to improve it :)

I'm just used to it, I only use my bookmarks for *important* pages (pron :P)
Wouldn't want my dad going through that now would I :)

i put my history to 30 days. (as opposed to 7)

ive never had frequently visited sites automatically disappear on me from the url bar.

also, attn all firefox users, there's a security hole in versions 0.9x and earlier. A buffer overflow exploit related to the bitmap parser.

It's fixed in the 1.0 preview release, so head over to http://www.mozilla.org and get it now :)
