Considering using/buying ASE, the standalone multi-game/mod online serverbrowser? Think twice. The authors don't seem to have much of a problem ignoring a bug reported three months ago where NO deathball servers are being shown in its UT2004 browser.

That are content to let their product portray our beloved mod as being dead and serverless. This isn't cool.

CorDawg toyed with the filters a bit and hit on the root cause for Deathball servers NOT showing up by default in ASE. All deathball server fail the second conditional check in the UT2004 filter!

Somehow the check on line#2 is finding the reported ServerVersion to = 0. I can't explain how that can be, only that it is. My servers report version 3323 and still it fails this check? Screwy.

It's the deathball gametype too.
As soon as I change the gametype to DM, CTF or Squadz, it shows up on ASE.
Any ideas David?

this has been bugging me for a while....
especially since it takes my comp 2 min to load db, then 30 sec to see theres nobody actually playing, then another 2 min to quit.
I'm not getting any younger you know.
Hope you guys can figure something out.

Yes, it's the raw data I asked him to show me so I can figure out what the heck ASE is looking for in server queries. It's gotten to the point of bugging me enough that I want to get it fixed.

Really would love to use ASE for DB. I use it for EVERY OTHER Gametype and Mod. Hope someone fixes it soon, would be nice not to have to start Unreal 1st just to see no one is playing anyway....

Appreciate it.
I'm not looking to be the dog on your heels.. I'm just doing what I can in the PR department to get the mod the exposure it needs and try to eliminate any negatives that we can.

Lord knows if I had any time at all, I'd learn to code and try to do all the stuff I post about that needs doing..

I do my best to pimp the mod all the time tho.
