I am thinking of buying UT2k4 to play some Deathball again.. I found it on eBay for like $1 + $5 shipping.. it says "CD KEY NOT IN USE" but who knows for real.. my question:

I know I need the key to install the game, but do I need it to play Deathball?! Like, if the dude is still using the key will I be able to get on Deathball?!

I don't want to even play UT2k4 at all... just Deathball.

Meh. Just go to any store where they keep the CDs in the box, open the box up, and copy down a CD key.

Yes, you will need it to play online. It's still UT2004, Deathball is only a mod for it.

Ahhh.. buying UT2004 ONLY for deathball... yep, been there and done that. I have never actually played regular ut2004 online.

same here, not even played 2k4 offline, not a single map. just a self made deathmatch map once on a lan where i had nothing else but that one

I've never played UT2004 either. What's the point when you could be playing Deathball?

I play UT2K4 semi-regularly with some friends. But when they aren't online, I never play UT2K4.

UT2004 > Deathball
