the new ball

saw the new ball on planet-db. i think it would look cool if there were random electric shocks from the ball to the rings every now and then. maybe have some planes with an animated texture? i think that would look good.

unless theres an emitter implanted in the ball and there are triggers for this emitter in every map, theres no such thing as a random lightning, it would have to be a texture/mesh loop would would get *lame* after a while

I am really looking forward to this new ball. I think that I even made a suggestion for it a while back on the Planet DeathBall. This, along with the new Hammer gun, will give DeathBall that new look it has been striving to have. This will make it appear less like Bombing Run.
I think it would really be nice to see "DB" on the actual ball also. This would say it is the DeathBall...ball.
For the rings, it would be nice to see them change from red to blue, then back to red or something when it is in the air. Maybe also have some electricity going through (from the inside) the rings of the ball. Kind of like beefsack said.
Also, are the rings of the ball when someone is holding it going to be different then the Bombing Run ones? It would be cool to see them near the same but maybe with the electricity in them.

i like the current ball for gameplay reasons right now... its easy to see and the propper size (unlike some custom balls). The only 2 maps i'v found that conflict with the current ball are Legofan (only in a few bright spots) and Gym which is still a beta.

And the one side of Lowcube that is way too bright.

its horrible, because you always confuse it with a ballowner
yellow rings give you the impression that its free, nobody has it

That makes sence. However, what about electricity through the yellow rings? This would be nice to see.

we had a solid ball on the SoP server for a while (i think it wad the first clan ball actually) and it was a light blue and peach beachball but when the league started we had to take it off and a few players in our clan had trouble addapting back to the normal ball.

one thing you have to be careful with a solid ball is that the larger the ball is the slower it is seems like it is going, there are a couple balls out there that are large and it just feels slower even though you know it isn't.
the sop ball was sweet, as is the ns and the wkd ball, i guess they might change the game a little bit, but actaully when i am playing unless the ball is too big it really doens't affect things for me but maybe others are different

Without the rings you are always searching it.... almost invisible

Rings are necessary, otherwise you hardly see the ball.
about your eletric shocks....i dunno how thins could be done technically
