Re: Level 52
How can you connect the object in the background to the map?
Remember it won't be something arbitrary, it has to be something that has a clear connection between the two.

Re: Level 52
PM me if you like. The thread was recently cleaned by the admin as it was deemed there was far too much spoily information in it.

Re: Level 52
Been stuck here for a couple of days now...
Questions!
a) Might someone who had traveled to, or lived in the places on the map have an easier time with this level?
b) If, hypothetically, a different map were used in the picture, would the answer also have to change?

Re: Level 52
a) Not really. Just have at least middle school schooling.
b)The map you have been given is very important. No map change needed. Just education and a good eye

Oh, I'm not suggesting changing the map myself. I'm asking: if the creator had chosen to use a map of a different location for this problem (like say, my home continent), then would the answer also have to necessarily change? Could this answer work with ANY map, or does it have to be specifically THIS map?nikgre17 wrote:b)The map you have been given is very important. No map change needed. Just education and a good eye
(btw, thanks for these answers!)
Re: Level 52
It's not the map but rather the pins. The pins are specific to that map and that map only. If David used a different map, he would have to move the pins, and that would give a a different answer.garroad_ran wrote:Oh, I'm not suggesting changing the map myself. Re: Level 52
I see!
Well, I have some ideas about the pins and the map, but I have absolutely zero ideas about the object in the background. I'm gonna keep thinking about it for another day or two and then I might have to ask for some guidance on that front!

[snip]
Never mind. I got it. I nearly killed myself in the process, but I got it.

Re: Level 52
Hi everyone, I seem to pick this back up every year or so - now I hope to finally get it.
I've tried five different approaches to link the pins and the object. Most were rather ambiguous. Two of them were possible, but didn't result in an answer. I also combined that approach with information from another site in the same directory, no result.
Is it too much to ask if this is something where you'd have to look up specific information, or could you solve this with general knowledge? And would it change depending how I use languages?
