Hi all,

the first thing I have to mention is that I am currently on a dial up connection, so things will be more rushed than usual due to the cost building up. This also explains as an apology why I haven't had a chance to discuss these views with the other owners of the channel. The current owners of #dbpickup are Catalyst, Goldeneye, myself and Fediko. I was given this status by cata when she realised that uni would mean little deathball time:-

1. Please stop bitching on the front page of deathball.net. imho it does not look good for deathball as a mod

2. I am in absolute agreement that there are ops in the #dbpickup channel that should not have that status. However, for various reasons I have found it difficult if not impossible to remove some of them without my life being made hell, even beyond the level expected of an owner of the channel

3. I would support a review of the op list, but would prefer this to happen when I am on irc. Unfortunately this will not happen until the beginning of January.

4. This review should, and if I have anything to do with it, would NOT happen in public. However, it would include the input of DavidM, myself, Cata, Goldy and Fee and possibly one or two of the more senior members of the community. The final decision on the status of any people in the channel would be that of the channel owners.

That is all I have to say on this for now. I feel that it is sad that people obviouslt feel the way they do about the state of the channel, and it for this reason that I think something needs to be done. Once again I apologise to my fellow channel owners for not consulting with them on this, but I don't have easy internet access, and won't have until the new year.

I belive DavidM has nothing to do with #dbpickup, the fact that he decided to cry withouth a bit of reason on the main deathball webpage should give you enough reasons to leave him out of that, even tho i explained it all in that very news thread...

He also doens't like _any_ of the TEZC members given his clanning past, so... :p fee and goldy are tezc, that'd be a bit conflictuous, for example... but yeah, you should have a meeting.

If i have to lose my op, so be it.. but i'll have my conscience clear as i will know i did the right thing when i had to.

though i do agree he shouldnt be consulted in this "meeting", what about people who have had worse off than this? i.e.....me? (dont get any ideas)

The fact you two directly oppose eachother in your opinions seems reasons enough to include you both in a decent discussion on the future of #dbpickup, no?

Personally I think people have to learn how to grow up and resolve conflicts better than bitching about it on web pages, and randomly banning people when they annoy them. If that was the case then there wouldn't NEED to be so many rules anyway... and people wouldn't bitch on the front page of the mod site. How unprofessional.

It really wasn't "randomly banning people when they annoy them." tho... if i did that.. lol... but I don't do that, all bans are deserved, meaning, applied to those who broke the rules, generating a bad environment on the channel

The idea being that if people followed the first rule you'd never have to follow the rest of them :p
