Hi there,

ok, my problem: I have a rented UT2k4 Server and want to install DB on it. I followed the instructions "How to setup a server..."

Now, I can see "Deathball" in the ServerAdmin, but if I want to take it, it switches back do DeathMatch. Can you help me?

Nuts.. you caught me when I only have a few mins befoe I have to run out to work.. Please hunt me down in IRC and I will assist you live today. I should be back online by 1700 EST (GMT-5).

Describe your setup to me. What is installed where, the server's commandline, any edits you did to the server's ini files, etc..

edit: I will try to check in here throughout my workday.. can't promise though.

hi,

ok, i just uploaded db 2.3 to my rented gameserver (timeplay.net) to the folder /UT2004/deatball/ (with one map).
In the UT2004.ini i just added the line ServerPackages=Deathball (or so) and then i tried to start it in the WebAdmin... Did not work.

you will need to add these to the [Engine.GameEngine] section:

ServerPackages=Deathball
ServerPackages=Deathball_rc
ServerPackages=DeathballAI
ServerPackages=DeathballSP


Add these on the end of the [Core.System] section:

Paths=../deathball/System/*.u
Paths=../deathball/Maps/*.ut2
Paths=../deathball/Textures/*.utx
Paths=../deathball/Sounds/*.uax
Paths=../deathball/Music/*.umx
Paths=../deathball/StaticMeshes/*.usx
Paths=../deathball/Animations/*.ukx


ALL of Deathball's *.ucl files need to be in ../ut2004/system

Finally, you sound like you will be running Deathball along with the regular gametypes. You will need to get this file: http://bud.recongamer.com/deathball/multimod.zip to prevent the problems outlined in this thread: http://forums.gameservers.net/showthrea ... adid=15928 The multimod files need to go into ../ut2004/textures and allow them to overwrite the existing ones.
