I'm also very lost on this, and have been stuck for well over a year now on this level.

I just got a notice that someone had posted in this thread after all this time, and it re-sparked my notpron flame.

it has at least two good hints right off the bat! which is a pretty good amount for some of these harder levels

This level takes quite a bit of playing around with, took me a few days to solve. Don't give up!

A bit of playing around with is an understatement. To solve this you need to sit down (possibly with a pot of coffee/stress balls) and just play around. And DONT stop.
