gunna be a dodgeball version too, lighting and grass textures are temporary, got the classic skybox already in there, music in there, and harold|ZBN is going to do some pwetty static meshes for it, so expect it to look a lot nicer

I like what I see so far. Once its completed, the only thing I'll need to wait for is a Sonic the hedgehog model. ;)

I think the pits would make the match more interesting. Players would have to be much more careful about their passing, adding more challenge to the experience. Besides, couldn't you just imagine the mayhem in getting the ball each time it reset? People constantly trying to knock each other into the pit whilst trying to get their mitts on the ball in a wild frenzy. :p

Reminds me of the duels on Spaeballs][ when the ball is shot off the map, people killing eachother in the team zones in the middle. I love the madness :D

pits = suk. all the old vets have been through this already.
looks cool though, and leave the pit, but put a blocking volume at the bottom, so we can get out, rather than die.

b volume would be clear and keep the look, while we wouldnt have to go through the ball being reset bullshit and a carrier could pass it out then jump out (with quad jump, would have to pass to get out)

Bloodpit played OK, but looked cr*p as far as I'm concerned. Besides, I've not seen to many servers with decent pings using it.

i was thinking of filling it with either water or spiked, water would solve your problems i guess?

what would you like to see instead

The skybox doesn't look very nice. Way too blocky. You could perhaps remake it so it looks better, or blur it so it doesn't look so blocky. Or another option would be to simply use one of the original skyboxes.

As for the pit, since so many people seem to gripe about it, water sounds more ideal. At least we could have some underwater DB action. People would have to jump into the drink rather than await a reset. If you do fill it with water, perhaps you could put little steps out from the narrow ledges on the side so people can climb back out from there if you dont want them to be able to climb onto the bridges from the water.

added grass, clouds = horrible gif compression, they dont look like that in game

i'd suggest surrounding the outer wall with more piller things, and change up the land scape a bit, not all fields need to be flat otherwise its just another cube with different textures.

I like the pit. hazards add a nice twist to the same ol game play. and provides a chance for new stradigeys to be devised. mmmm
