hi all,

Just spreading the word signups are still going on for the lagfrag online sports North American Draft League.

All are invited.
Games are all played on North American Servers however, so if you have trouble with that then i'd suggest not signing up

Deathball 2.3 is being played.
Teams will all compete eachother atleast once before moving into a tournament mode.

The # of teams will be determined after all players have signed up and captains will be chosen, then the draft will take place the following weekend, November 6th (signups end the October 30th!)

The week time between signups and and actual draft event is to give time to pick the captains and for captains to watch players in pickup games and try and get a feel for who they can hope to draft.

Indeed but the euros play 2.4 mostly.. Switching it back and forth to play a draft league and to play mixers would be a pain.

The NA played 2.4beta for over a week. In fact the release of the beta did energize the community and we had lots more players online than normal. However, some very bad gameplay trends were evident after a fair shake of the beta. So, most of the NA went back to 2.3.

The always active NA pubs kept on with the 2.4beta for a while. Now it's completely dead. RIP the the NA pub community.

I'm sure if 2.4 is just as good or better than 2.3 then the NA will move on to 2.4. The NA community has been looking forward to a new version for a long time. But, 2.4beta hurt the community so the NA moved back to 2.3.

Just to be clear, 2.4beta looked like it might have a future in the NA at first, but after a while, it became evident that the NA needed to switch back.
