This sound familiar to anyone other than me?
Nov 2002. Play DB on publics ALOT, and every night.
DEC 2002. End up in a clan, in my case a good one but YMMV
Jan 2003. Play lots of clan games, still visit publics fairly often
Feb 2003. Pickups take over from publics, mostly.
March 2003. Fewer clan games, and the ones that occur are stressful `must win' affairs, what's a public?
April 2003. The odd clan game, but now as well as being stressful, the tactics needed to win are defensive and no_fun to play. The occasional pickup, not vistited a public in months. Time spent playing games other than DB increasing rapidly.

I still enjoy it, but not as much as I did at first. Late-night public games on the 1234 servers can still be great when you get a load of well-known players on them. I haven't played a pickup in ages.

1234 late night was where it all started for me
I'd sort of assumed it had gone the way of all other pubs (a collection of retarted monkeys with `OMG WTF U NOOB' bound to just about all their keys).
theberkin8or: The no fun tactics needed to win games these days are pbox camp till you get the ball, then boost the crap out of everyone > long ball before the opposition can set up their own pbox camp. Course it is possible to win games via other methods, but the pbox camp produces the most consistent results, and it's easy to do .. only it's boring as hell to play.

ffa becomes worse every day....because I am used to a high level of teamplay from my own team....which is just not existant on pubs

It has most of the time, but after about 11 all the kids go to bed and you get a fair amount of good experienced players, and people from D@MN too.

pubs are getting gayer and gayer.
whenever i see i person i kno it becomes fun, when he leaves the server gets crappy again
there sre so many cocky ppl that hav no teamwork or they just dont kno how to pass
