I've seen the advertising for that ringtone. It was originally marketed as the "silent ringtone" but now, due to some confusion, it's called "teen buzz". It doesn't work. Most 30+ year olds can hear it, but probably not really old people.

It's stupid though..most kids these days probably have worse hearing than their teachers (e.g. by listening to low-quality low-impedance ipod earbuds at top-volume..)

I can hear it in on some TVs, most TVs however aren't able to produce the sound, and I have a feeling some TVs produce a lower sound than it should actually be..that'll probably be the same for phones
