Well, it seems that the actual system for european teams have difficult to work correctly (team dying, team owning their division....etc)

So my idea is to put teams randomly in 4 conferences like NBA, with an equal numbers of teams in each conf..

after all matchs, the 4 top teams of each conf are qualified for 1/8 finals and maybe to go threw 1/4, 1/2 and finals, 2 matchs, or 1st to win 3 matchs, or something like that .

well, just an idea, but maybe the system explained on dbl would be better...dunno

My vote would be against this idea, sorry Requiem.
I personally much prefer the european league system we have now to the Americanised format you propose. If the divisions are rearranged as indicated on the news page then I think this will provide the best arrangement of similar teams to stop clans from folding and allow everyone to win a few games

yeah but groups were only there to know in which D each team gonna play.. my idea is for the general DBL champion :p

it could look like european champions league, group and after Home/away matchs

The NBA is divided up in geographical conferences

If we went to this system, some teams would get a thrashing and getting a thrashing really isn't too fun, hence, they may drop out of the league.

Could just have one big league with everyone in it

(would take too long to complete though)

I think a Champoins League format would suit DB extremely well

A collection of small group stages ( 5 per group in a league format)

Top 2 progress to knockout stages, which shouldnt last too long as the losing teams will get bored =]

I agree with NightSpirit on this one folks. the current league system is the fairest and it enables all teams to play lots of games. With your proposed small group format, only the really strong teams will play lots of games, most teams will get knocked out straight away and have to wait weeks before it starts again. Also I feel there would be less achievement/satisfaction in winning a 'group style tournament' rather than a more balanced and lenghty system which we have now.

Your idea Requiem, wasnt a bad one tho. Perhaps we could have a champions league style cup as well as the league?

It will be much better next season when all the teams will be in there rightful divisions, and we will have less teams dropping out and more fun! which is what deathball *should* all about imho.
Just look at us (ZBN) for example, sitting at the foot of division 2, but we still seem to have more fun than most of the clans we play.
