I know updates aren't exactly fast with the current development crew, but wouldn't it be even slower if left to Epic?

i would assume team vortex would still be the main developers (of course epic would add their ideas and improvements to db). But ya the game development probably would be a bit slower because each version would have to be up to epic's standards and god knows some previous versions of DB would fall way short of these standards. Overall I'd say it would be better if DB was included, it would get a TON more exposure. Plus, the game itself would be greatly refined and most likely improved to meet epic's standards. And the longer time between versions isn't always a bad thing, it ensures that the version will be as perfect as it can be, and having lots of versions in a short amount of time doesn't allow players to become really comfortable with a certain version.

I guess there would be more people available to develop aspects like custom models and sounds and so on.

keep DB as a mob not as part of the game, this is not what UT2004 is all about.......

thats true too. this mod relys so heavily on team play, that opening the flood-gates to planet-noob many just end up pissing everyone off.

No DB in UT2k4, it would make things slower then they are already. People already know about deathball, they can't take the time to download a 40 meg file? sad.
