i was wondering if anyone can provide a good argument for turning off sprint, that would convince ppl who came after sprint was added?

i am trying to convince ppl to let me turn off sprint (or at least for a one week trial). However it is a public server (not mine) and i would need a reasonable level of support. unfortunately, the n00bs who came after sprint make up the majority of the players, so i need to convince them to trial non-sprint for a week.

btw, only ppl who have played with both sprint and non-sprint, and for at least a week, and with reasonable ping should reply here.

most euro servers have sprint off.. cos it sux :p its in Webadmin..

um i know that it sucks, that's why i want to turn it off. but it is not my server i am just one admin of it, and i need to convince ppl with a rational argument that sprint should be turned off.

unfortunately all i can think of is that sprint reduces the skill level, or n00bifies it. And being relative n00b's most ppl like this.

it's especially bad cos 1.7 makes it last about 3.1 billion times longer

tell them to try something new for an evening, they dont have anything to lose really.

Need to put 1.6 sprint back in. 1.7 just sux bein able to sprint 10 miles at a time and can jump as much as you want without draining

just change it, they will cry for a while but they will get used to it. just like what happens every time there is a change in db

*nods* I'm willing to give it a go. I remember when I first started playing DB with version 1.4b and there was no sprint. I'll just return to my normal shooting ways and abandon the volleys.

since when is sprint nessecary to volley?

Well I just find doing straight forward volleys a little more difficult without the sprint to put more power behind the volley. Plus I use the sprint to execute a few of the harder ones.

Personally I prefer playing without sprinting as well. Last night I played a public game on a server with sprint enabled and it was one big sprint-fest.

In 1.7? Thats because sprint in 1.7 sux and needs to be changed back to the way it was in 1.6.

In 1.7 you have almost unlimited sprint

sprinting makes the game much harder

you gotta think before you get the ball what you are going to do with it....and not only you, your teammates have to get in position much faster
all because you have no time to react later, the others sprint at you to tackle you....dead

but there are cool things you can do in the off with it, stuff that reminds me football (unlike the usual db goals)
