Scores and Stats...
1st time poster. Team Player since the release of 1.6.
I have noticed that when browsing my favorites and the Deathball server menus, there are no scores for servers with version 1.8. Servers that have not upgraded i.e. v1.7, I can see players scores. I like to see these scores when the servers are full because it gives me an idea on how long till the field of play changes opening a spot in game or in spectator.
IS ANYONE SEEING THIS PROBLEM?
Second, while playing on servers that have enabled stats reporting, my stats are not posted on csports.net. The stats have not been logged since Sunday. I have checked the .ini files and the in-game settings, they are correct and stats should be getting posted as they were before v1.8. Although I am climbing the ladder, #165, I do not see scores being posted.
I DON'T THINK I AM THE ONLY ONE NOT GETTING STATS RECORDED... AM I?
Finally... Deflection to the other end of the field, travelling faster than any shot or volley, is wrong.
Spawning at beginning of game and after a score needs to be fixed... everyone spawns, it seems to me, in the same general spawn point. This is good for boosting to center field in the first seconds of a start or restart, but is not how organized teams would be in RL (real life).
Oh btw, if I am on your team (whoever you may be), don't bitch about my keeping. Its hard enough to keep, but even harder when your from USA and the server is on the otherside of the world. I dont mind playing Euro servers with a 190+ ping, but it gets real old when you have no defense, and a bunch of whiners on the team who want to hog the ball , not boost, and never pass... Ever wonder why it is that when you look back to your goal and you don't see your keeper??? Then you look at the score, even though you know your down... and check the chat log to see that he was begging for back up or relief back when the game was still a game and not a blowout... I don't leave keep when I spawn there, but I do ask for relief when I know that I am not benefiting the team by being there.
This is a very fun game that relies on teamwork. Boosting when necessary, finding someone close to boost, Passing to the open man (usually down the sidelines and not in the middle of the field), and defending your goal. Efficient boosting and passing wins games, teamwork. If your team doesn't have the ball, find someone to defend and stick to them like gum on a hot sidewalk, boost them out of the way if the ball is incoming or hit them for a tackle if they have the ball.
Not bad for a 1st post.

1 & 2) stats were removed in 1.8 first off. There is no scores. Nothing. This also affects you Csports rating (which means nothing to be honest)
3) Deflection is still stupid yep. Cant with till David M makes the radius even bigger.. apparently neither can you.
umm... why are you playing euro servers? theres a bunch of NA servers. I can think of 4 clan servers off the top of my head. Maybe you cant get in cause they're all locked and David M, infact no one on the dev team, gives a rats ass about the NA community and wont get any server put up on our side of the pont.
They wonder why we bitch... they wonder why ur community is dying...
This is a perfect example. Saying he doesnt mind playing with high pings but because of those pings hes at a disadvantage and has to deal with the frustration of people yelling at him in dutch.

Thanks for the responses.
I play on NA servers when there are peeps playing.
I play on Euro servers when the above peeps are sleeping.
I play from 6pm to 10am EST. That is the window I have available. There is about 4 hours in that window where you can't find anyone playing or those who are playing are in organized gaming ladders.
As for scores and stats, I like to see them because it gives me a way to guage my performance. I realize I can be tackle King, or I can be the equivelent of Jake Plummer. Good or bad, team performance is what determines the winner. Stats are what characterizes the player. I know I am good at assists and tackles, the stats would tell which I am stronger in and what I need to work on more. Recruiting teams would be able to see that I am above average Keep, a good passer, and that I can defend. Scores and stats never tell the whole story, because it is a teamwork based game. Winning doesnt always mean the best offense or best defense. Having a bunch of scorers and no defense just means every match is more likely to be a high score. <-- But we know this, its common sense.
I raise another question:
Why is the game not divided into halves and/or quarters. Maybe not for pubs but for matches?
I like this game, I prefer it over CTF. Those of you who don't like it... go design your own version.
p.s.
Somebody post some damn tweaks and settings. Explain the ball to player relationship and what purpose the radars serve. The obvious to some is not so obvious to others. A positive answer benefits the whole db community, everyone may learn something new or teach someone something new.

And arent u supposed to know the tactics beforehand?
Isnt that partially what the 2nd rounds in dbl are for? For example after the 1st match u know that team has volley whores, thus u adjust your defense, or if they are more into boosting 5 players up to defense and they do this fast, u can prepare for fast counters, with 1 player camping on midfield.
I dont think the halves would add any more to that, but take away some of the speed in the game. I mean come on, 2 15 minute matches O_o that sux =\
ps: i ALWAYS have my pre-match peepee
yay
