short answer:
ya.. that delays really annoying... its an animation confliction.
long answer:
When 2 animations queue up on eachother they cant play the next animation untill the first animation is complete because the weapon may warp positions in game and look VERY un-professional. The solution is an animation queue system when you cant preform something untill the animation is complete for the pervious.
In other words, even though "gun switch time" is .1 seconds, if the animation is ANY longer than .1 seconds the gun delay actually uses the animation time (which is frustrating). If 1 animation takes place, like firing the hammer, and you catch the ball you have to wait for the end of the hammer animation and wait for the gun switch animation to play before you can do anything.
solution: make the hammer animation shorter to the "blast effect" takes as long as the animation. The blast being about .1 seconds and the animation somewhere near .25. That .15 second difference stacks with the .1 gunswitch making the actual gunswitch dealy .25 seconds like it was with 2 guns.
If your going to use one gun, at least make it work right.
