Voice Comm.

Would it be possible to implement a Voice comm. into Deathball or send out DB with some kind of voice comm system like TeamSpeak or Roger Wilco?
It adds so much to the game and lets you talk to your team opposed to typing (making you stop playing while typing). I would image it would be quite possible to do by making the voice comm program simply a .u file and launching it with the Deathball.ini on startup (sort of like the ogg-vorbis player).
Sure its a coding challenge but in any team game i can think or practically, theres some way other than typing to communicate. Even though completely different, Counter Strike and DB both involve a lot of communication and a Voice Comm was added to CS for this reason. Even though it sucks at least they made an effort.
It may bnot be possible, but meh, just throwing it out there.

voice com proved to be pretty useless in deathball
as soon as the signal got thru to the other players the situation is already over

stuff like TS2 is good and does add depth, altho its mainly used in situations where u cant see whats happening and need to know fast! =) i.e. (CTF, where the carrier maybe in the enemy's base)
afaik communication has never really been a problem in DB, as you can see whats going on in front of u =).
Maybe get some teams to try TS2, and see how usefull it proves, then consider whether its of any added value to DB??

We used to use voice comms. It can be very handy in some situations. Teams are always free to use external voice comms if they wish, but I do see that if it was integrated into deathball then it could work much more efficiently perhaps since it was designed for such a specific purpose.
We stopped using it after a while tho, mainly because three of our regular players at the time were having to share one cable modem and there was no bandwidth for that without playing with netspeed let alone each using voice comms too. Also, teamspeak allows people to destroy morale much quicker due to the ease in which they can shout things like "Boost FFS" and complain about a shot that when wrong etc without having to stop and type it first.

Night Storm uses TS2 and it works well for us, I know RusH does too.

I tried to get fcu to use it once.
Only talked to one person yet
I guess its not necessary in db, because u can c everything, and u pretty much know what ur team is gonna do.
Would sure be funny tho ^_^

add an option in the deathball settings to easy bind keys for n00bs or people who forget the console command ^_^;
that would be great. could also note there that spam = no talk penaltys.

The teamspeak mod do actually develop plugins for games and mods.
If you want something to be done, they will.
