hmm after a while of HATING the pubs i started trying pubs again (months ago) i then noticed that they sucked, all lame, no newbs asked people anything, own goals (blablabla bla, etc)
Well the last couple of weeks i am starting to enjoy pickups, people are more friendly, less omg, (and when someone does people seem to ignore him anyway) and its getting pretty fun. Heck, i even teached 1 newb the basics, (all i know ). People also ask things like whats boosting and then they learn it on the pubs, yesterday evening i played on a pub where all the noobs stopped playing and just learned some tricks from me and another guy , I played DB against my best friend who learned it for the first time today, it was sooo much fun and after that we played on the pubs, he even got respect while he aint that good atm , so short : DB is going the right way!:

pretty much the only thing NA plays anymore are pugs/scrims/matches

pubs piss me off...

i dunno about europe, but in NA either the n00bs don't listen or get yelles at. Period. I have yet to find a n00b that actually wants to learn the game. You get your little "31337 H4X0R5" who want to "pwn" everyone, and the 100% n00bs that just don't catch on and if they do listen (which they usually do), they end up doing it all wrong and people lose their patience.

Well, im one of the NA players who play pub's and occasionally pubs. But i must say, there aren't as many new players coming around. Could it be because most public games nowadays are volley only? No, no, couldn't be. Could it be because when a person who is obviously completley new and come's into one of these "pubs," and score a goal finally get shot down with "FFS N00b VO!!" Ban, etc. etc? No, that couldn't possibly be it. However i do have one suggestion, David M, put a link to the rules on the front page. please? I mean i only discovered the FAQ that i downloaded a week or so ago.

if they score its a goal!

since no servers set volleyonly =true, its always false

I've noticed an increased number of players in our Australian server too.

I played the pub DavidM is talking about i think, and its not much better than how it use to be. Its good for people that have never played in a very competitive game where all the players are experienced, but its no use once u have started with the "pro" games, its hard to go back =(
