to buy the unreal 2k3 engine would be verry costly, also epic and atari would have to say yes to the deal. you are also forgetting that this epic compo's main prize is for the mod to be released in shops as retail, without needing unreal to play it!

maby one day david will get lucky :e

If Halflife 2 is as popular as the first one, you could make "Deathball 2" (or something like that) as a mod for hl2.

maybe even they win the make-something-unreal contest, they get an engine instead of a cash price :D :D

one thing that makes db good to 2k3 is the unreal atmosphere (spelling), and that "bombing run" already gave the modders a ball engine to edit to there needs. i doubt hl2 comes with a bombing run mode and i really cant see lab workers playing this sport for fun :P

Actually, the engine itself is about 10 mb... It's the rest that makes it so big (Textures, maps, staticmeshes, music, sound, uscript)

Reason the DB community is small?...no 1 says much in game...theres not the time to...so it's not very welcoming to n00bs, as all they hear is "omg...lame...n00b"...wtf?..etc.

btw...i know cs players that heve bought ut2003 just for db \o/

Something about that just doesn't sound right.
