Pickup enhancer

Looking at the pickup teams (and me always being on the crap team) I found them to be pretty unfair.
So I came up with this.
Every player (as far as we know them) gets a value for def and off, and dbpickup tries to keep the def and off sum in each team equal.
If one team has more def, the other will get a little more off.
Players which are not in the database get a 0 for def and off, we'll try to add more people, and mark those who are added, so we see who isnt added....

Goldy has to code this, then it should all be more balanced.

We are not going to publish the values that we assigned to the players, it would just end up in conflicts.
They are values between 1 and 4 for def and off.

For keepers we just have a value "yes" and "no" (if he/she is keeper in his/her clan)

So far......

How will you update the values of players? That will be one hell of a job for someone

Like the idea, but its gonne be hard to keep track of.
Both on deciding who worth what and then keeping track of who is actually who on IRC.

Unless it's easy for the bot to check Q auth.. I gues it is actually, but it'll still be difficult to manage all the players' worth

to be honest, it's not up to you to change how pickups work...

But it's a good idea

I like the idea sounds good, personally I havn't noticed any unfair teams of course when you play against dbl teams it's always gonna be unfair.
Taken not Ahsatan

what about picking teams, like have captains who are the keepers, that's how the NA bot works. Plus, if it's done like that, we can steal it, and replace our current bot because picking teams is the only good thing about that bot.

Well actually 80% of the pickups I play in are unfair and end 10:2 or so...

Keeping track?
Dunno, we can go thru the list once a month and check if they are still alright.

It's being checked by Q auth, so it always knows who it who.

We will mark the players in the database by underlining the name in the !teams-list
So if you see unjudged players feel free to tell me what they are like or so, something so we can add them.

It's not an über-exact thing, just need a vague idea.

Yeah Hoju, sounds good too, but might be too complicated to do :/

We'll see how the new system works.

Evil M!

But as I said, it's just to have a vague idea....
like: is he crap in def, solid or Über?
This shouldn't be a big prob.

Btw. I could not add you, because you have no Q auth.

Btw David, how many pickups HAVE you played? I don't think I've ever played you in a pickup, actually.
Actually I think pickups are often pretty fair
