Voice communications

Post by Twigstir »

UT2004 is going to have voice communications. Would voice communications make deathball a more enjoyable mod? Would it enhance the team aspect of the game?

More info on UT2004's voice communications can be found in this thread: http://www.ina-community.com/forums/sho ... did=311136

experienced players dont need to be told what to do since the radar gives you all the info u need...

but never underestimate the power of large groups of people all swearing together... :D

can be useful for switching stratigies on the fly and allowing for HELPFUL comments without stoping to type... can also be a bitch too if ppl are not saying constructive things

It won't affect the way we play the game, however, instead of spamming boost or saying sorry for your own mistakes, you can just broadcast it. Also, you can just talk trash to each other when the game gets out of hand when one team is clearly dominate over the other.

I would think it could have advantages. Knowing what your team mate is going to do can be an important part of a team game. A player with the ball saying "cross", "off the wall", "taking a shot", or "pass" could improve team play. A goalie saying "reset" tells his team that someone should go to the ball spawn. Little stuff like that could be used for an advantage if done correctly. I would think a well organized team with good communications would be able to play better.
