I dont know if other people have this aswell, but ever since the creation of 1.8 or something, Deathball LAGS like hell.

At some servers its impossible for me to keep, cause I dont see the ball come at me now, till say.....0.2 seconds after its been shot.

Also the radar is REALLY laggy at some servers, such as dbl, u just cant see them pass for the first 0.2 seconds.

People are warping around the map ALL THE TIME.

It's becomming frikkin hard to volley (I suspect the ball of lag-causing) cause of the lag, Gibball doesnt have this problem, cause it has a rather simple ball.

Again, I dont know if it is like this with other people, but it gets worse every version.....

Also, get rid of the new cube, bring in the old one....

I have seen it several times that the ball just flies into the skie.....Then it bounces back of the tv or something (which I dont see on my settings) or some invisible part of the crowd.......

The special effects when theres a goal (on the goal posts) ARE UGLY, and a #1 cause for lag and bad fps.....

Well, there must be more bad things I can think of, but I'm at school right now, and the class is about to start :o

Solar Flares have been disrupting things for about 2 months and recently have had some large waves hitting earth.

Not saying this is the reason but it certainly has had an impact on networks worldwide. My pings have risen slightly as of late. I know their not caused by Deathball or UT2K3 because it happens while playing both games. Trace Routes show that even my friends around Arizona have increased pings on routers around the country when they run a trace route.

You might want to ping and trace to the servers IP where you play to see if packet loss or route issues are present. Check your system for spyware and virus'. Test your internet at http://www.speedguide.net and http://www.dslreports.com. You may also want to reset you modem by powering it down and waiting 60 seconds then power it up again. Also you can try at dos promt, type 'ipconfig /releaseall' and then 'ipconfig /renewall'

OR. we could just go ahead and blame DM and his MOD. Maybe quit DB and online games altogether and get out and socialize and talk about how we used to play games online until we decide to go back to them because: irregardless of our pings we just can not stand being away from our computer games, which is where all of our gaming friends will still be playing because they knew they couldnt handle socializing with someone face to face unless they were at a lan party.

.... My ping is 60....

Also, theres a clear lag-increase whenever the ball is close, or is being shot away (whenever it apears).

Im not blaming anything, It's just something that catched my atention, and its making 2on2 close to impossible for me :o

The problem isnt on my side, I talked to others that have the same problem.

Yea, I think the smoke trail is causing a problems for people. However, I think you can turn it off, I thought I saw a option for that.

I've noticed more lag in 1.9 even with a ping of 50. The ball seems to act weird and skip a frame or something. Possibly changes to the code regarding the ball?

Savwa, I've got not viruses on my machine and no spyware. I only noticed this minor issue after installing 1.9.

I'm having similar problems. With all the gfx settings exactly the same, 1.9 was unplayabvle after I'd installed it

That doesn't always seem to work properly :s
If it's even been implemented :)

[edit]And there's been an fps drop when the ball comes near for some time now, altho i don't know if it has decreased or increased.

When waiting for everyone to click at the start of a game, mine pauses every second or two constantly (for a good half second to second)... but once the game starts it seems to go away.. apart from the smaller lag spikes.

My graphics are on normal I think, haven't changed them since 1.8 either.

uhrm..same, I notice when I look around before the game starts (in tourney mode) that sometimes it freezes for 1 or a half sec.

Odd, dunno if it's the case with any other gametypes..

Thought it was just me

yea 1.9 feels laggy, like 1.7 (or 1.8?) when it first came out. it feels choppy, and its nothing to do with the connection. its lost its smoothness again :\

if u watch the replays, thats how the game feels (but its obviously worse in replays than in game)

1.9 feels very laggy to me as well. And when a Athlon 2800+ w/ radeon 9800 pro gets laggy, I start to worry.
