DB-VollyCube v1.0

Ok, I've made Pong cube into a standard size goal map also

its got about normal sized pbox and goalie area also instead of the big pong styled ones.

Figured it'd be a nice varation of the Small Cube map for VO players esp.

Nice first map.

Blue goal is missing two emitter effects(red fountains). Red goal has four blue fountains.

Keeper volumes not used anymore.

I believe only one carmerascrip actor should be replay=true. Also the camerascript actor by itself acts as a stationary camera. I prefer some stationary cameras.

You have physics volumes in the map for no reason. ( they reset the ball which can't get outsid your map)

I thing the beams in the roof are too spammy. I'd prefer a flat roof (blocking volumes)

Blocking volumes for the goals need to fit the goal opening better. The volume should also be flush with the posts that stick out.

Goal volume looks to close, allowing owngoals.

The goal actor should be in the goal.

Could use soft ambient sounds.

Some pathnodes need to be removed. Too close to start spots.

Keep with it. Your getting there. I enjoyed playing it.

cool beans. i'll work on updating it later on this week probably.

thnx for putting it up was good to see it in action gives me better insight on things that do and don't work

No problem. I had hoped putting these maps up would lead to more feedback on the maps. So far, not many people are posting. That's a shame.

Played it online and saw a couple of problems.

The ball got lost on the roof over the goals. Happened several times.

Keepers getting stuck in there own goal. (red goalie had a lot of problems)

Are you still working on this map?

I was going to revamp and fix stuff, what do you mean lost? the ledge? or is it disappearing?

the goals i can fix, i left the brushesoff the ground from the pong version i made first :< you can duck into them hehe. was also thinking of making it a little wider. any other thoughts to change?

Could be the ledge. Couldn't see the ball but that is where it disappeared.

I have tested the map (but i had in mind that this isn't a final map)

Design: The map looks nice, and plays well, but some design stuffs should be changed. First of all the Goal should be changed, at least the textures, because it looks weird, and it doesn fit into the other textures style. The buildins (?) outside are a good idea, but The texes they wear are... well... so u should change them at least to those texes used in the old SmallCube and old Cubes... remember that? (Or if u have time, you could make some nice looking buildings on your own) And there are those cornes. They should be put out, or made bigger, so u could put a lightstuff there (will be explained in next)

Lights: Something has to be done here too... I think if there is a LightCorona, there should be a light bulb or sth that gives the light... light comes from somewhere ya know.

Gameplay: The game goes with highest FPS, so there is no problem with that... a little bit design would not hurt thisone. But the Blocking volume has to be changed imho... I mean the one that blocks players from jumping too high... I saw that back in old SC, I hope u will get that out, unless u hava a reason of why keeping it. Another thing is that the ball gets stuck sometimes... or at least, it can stuck... Up there there is a little place between the cage and the wall. There is no need to rebuild... U just have to place a blocking volume there, and everything will be fine.

In all, The map looks and plays nice and well. If I have to give u points now, I would give: 7/10 for design, 7/10 for lights and 8/10 for gameplay, and in all... I think for a beta (or not final) map this is very good... keep up the good work :p
