Well this is something I've wanted to do, but I'm not a mapper and that = no talent, but in general I think a basketball court style map would be cool, either street or indoor

A pinball table would make a great environment to play Deathball in, providing it had working flippers (controlled by keeper) and those static objects which deflect the ball at high velocity.
Each half of the pitch would need to have the table slanting towards the goal, so the ball would travel to the table end when it was on the ground, enabling the keeper to fire the ball back upfield using the goal-side flippers

i can't map. i used to map for quake 1 , but this editor's got my mind going WTF IS THIS?!
but i drew up an idea and attached it to this message.
the basic idea of it is theres danger spots so it lives more up to its name daethball. and the 'new' thing about this map would be the line down the middle you will see. will act as a barrier to the ball. an invisible wall or partal transparent wall that the ball can only be carried across not volleyed or shot through.
of course i can't make it. so thats totally up to the mapper! any takerS? :>

I don't think the "danger spots" would affect the game that much, but your drawing r0x.

haha, i figured the pits would be cool, for either the ball falling in them and resetting, or boosting enemys into a put hehe
but i think more maps should have hazards in them. like a map where all the walls are grid that will kill the player if he jumps through it, but the ball will bounce off it like a normal wall.
this is supposed to be DEATHBALL - you know, like a crazy sports game you'd see in the year 2080

you ripped off bloodpit mang... also, your center wall is a horrible idea for 1 reason. and thats basically that if you'r passing the ball back and forth around mid field the wall would mess you up. You'd need to make some kind of reverse trigger on it so if people arnt standing in it in their own 1/2 then its up. It'd be too complicated and prolly require some custom coding.

An idea i came up with during Geometry class...i drew it out on my computer....i call it DB-KingOfTheHill

The map starts at the top, which is a triangle shape (at the 'face off') and slopes down, at the end of the slope, its the other team's penaly zone. (mostly to stop pickers..cant stand them) It's DEATHball, cmon people lets see some bloodshed! I also thought the curved top of the wall on the top would make for some interesting bounces off of it, hopefully stopping people from just shooting the ball across the map..gets annoying.
since i dont have the map making skillz, im sure someone else does....Good Luck and let me know what you think of my idea.

It's just a change from the norm....i was thinkin like some boosters at the bottom for that respected team, so they can get up it faster.....or something.
