Review #6 - DBW-Cell2
G'day folks, finally got around to taking a look at a Deathball Warfare map. I now present DBW-Cell2 by TEZC-Rage and TEZC-Rens2sea. I'm not really sure how to go about reviewing this, but I'll do my best.

So what's the map like?
It would take to long to go into every single little detail of the layout, so I'll just give you the jist of it. On either side there are several walls and columns which the players spawn around and on top of. At the base of the longest wall there is a jump pad which takes players to the top. In the middle of the map there is a large pillar with a disc protruding out of it. At the base there are is a tunnel with a couple of superweapons on either end. To get a real idea of this layout, it would be best to look at the screenshots.
For the most part, player spawns are placed logically. However, I have found that players occasionally may spawn in a tight little area where it's difficult to get a good shot off. To make matters worse, this makes them easier targets provided that the attacking player is relatively skilled with grenades. The only way to avoid this is to move out of that area as quickly as possible.
Apart from this the gameplay of this map is good. Plenty of open space to move, and a lot of walls that you can work to your advantage with the right shots. One thing I personally didn't like was the large disc on the central pillar, I feel it obstructs gameplay a bit. If I were you I wouldn't let this worry you, as it really is a very minor thing, I have to pick at every little detail.
Visuals for the map are good by DBW standards. Cell-shading is ever-present in this map, though it is a little bit flawed in places, that's just me being picky again.
Although I doubt one would ever need to worry about framerates in a DBW map, you never know. From this particular map you'll get nothing but smooth framerates.
Pros
- Good gameplay
- Nice visuals
Cons
- Some spawn points seem to be badly placed (probably just me again ).
Overall
Graphics 7/10 (by DBW standards)
Gameplay 7/10
A good map with some minor flaws, if you are a regular DBW player this map belongs on your hard drive.
