Hello all,

I don't know if this a bug but when I'm playing solo deathball and when the ball reaches the goal keeper, he never pass the ball even if I still active the "pass me" command ???

He keeps it and when the "keep time" is over, the ball is re injected at the middle of the field.

not unless you feel like coding some bot AI. :p Sadly, there is no support of solo play in deathball yet, and doesn't look like it will happen for a long time. Come and play online, you'll find it a lot more fun

As for maps, just check out the mapping forum on this site. Make sure you get Armagon's deathball ownage map-pack. 4cows maps has a fine selection of custom db ones.

When they decided to code AI Bots for single player. they should make them complete with team and non team taunts that randomly say 'PASS YOU N00B!' and also 'GG DAVIDM' when the ball gets stuck or reset.


tho seriously. that might be a good way to teach new players deathball if they say "alt fire to pass me the ball!' and if they over charge a shot while trying a team mate will say "release the shot just before your energy bar is full for maximum poweR!'

and then they do the humping dance. and db turns really gay with some porno music... :O

DB online needs tweaking a bit first, then when it wins the MSU contest (;)) they'll do AI

When you select botmatch the game clearly states that the bot support is not properly working.

that's if you use the db executable. most people (yours truly included) just use the normal ut2k3 one and go to the db tab. *It* doesnt have any annoying popup messages when you want to do an offline test

Oh yes, I noted that and also rode the readme text that was saying that bots were stupid as ***, but I was just wondering...

Being a frenchie noob who just recently discover DB mod, I was just wondering was exactly do you mean by "volly" or "volley" ? (I did check in many posts but did not undertand exactly themeaning of it) (sorry )

Oke here we go:

Volleying is 'hammering' the ball away by pusing LMB when u are near the ball and looking at it. With this technique u can also 'boost' people, but then use it on people. This will give the player a boost, so that he can go somewhere faster.

Deathball is a mod with mods:
Tennis-Dodgeball-DbWarfare (<3 Rens)
The grenades he was talking about, were used in DB-Warfare, wich is like fps-worms ala deathball.

Volley is when you hit the ball without catching it. ie: pressing the fire button when the ball is in front you if. you can hit it in the air if you dare, or in a house with a mouse...
