Poll #14 - DB-ToonBall
I've kept in touch and helped TEZC-Rage in any way I could over the last couple of days to make sure this map was ready in time for the pack. Fortunately we succeeded so now I present to you the final version of DB-ToonBall by TEZC-Rage.
To be fair, this map doesn't really offer anything new in the way of gameplay. It's very similar to DB-Cube in that sense. What makes this map so good is the cartoony elements. Lots of new textures, some new sounds and a whole lot of fun.
This one is a keeper.
You can download DB-ToonBall here:

I will most definately be writing a review for this map after the pack is done.

the textures dont get the comic feeling across, they should be more plain i think
they have some photoshop layers or so added and kinda try to look 3d, what they shouldn't
maybe have a look at the simpsons-hitnrun textures? it's doing that quite well imo and you just feel like being in a comic world in that game.
i dont like that "black border" effect in 3d, should remain in 2d
and looking at someone from a weird angle it looks like a bug
i'd suggest adding weird shaped objects around the stadium (you know, everything bent, slanty etc, that comic style...)
just some buildings or so
to me it tries to look like a comic, but fails mostly
i still voted yes tho
my above suggestion are just what needs to be done to get added to DB itself

DavidM, your comments on the map were well done. Your follow up post is kinda prickish and asks for attacks. Nice to see comments though, better than I could have done about the textures even though I had some of the same feelings.
I thought the brown bricks looked ok. But overall the arena textures are short of a true cartoon feel in my opinion. However, more plain colors will look boring in this size map without some added detail to break up the walls. I for one, don't know how to pull off a more comic look that will look good in a retangular box.
