new goal idea?

New Goal type Idea

I am mishmashing the idea in my head of a new goal to stick in a map, sorta amix of a hole goal and a regular goal. just curious what others might have for some brainstorming on this

I was thinking it might hafta be a little wider then the standard goal a little deeper going into the wall. (or it might be too hard to score)

but anyhow the keeper will keep as normal. the only hitch to this is, just because the ball goes into the goal doenst mean it will count it must go into a drain and cross a line before its a goal.

if you've played my map pitfall you'll already get a sense of where this is heading (tho that goal works as a normal goal)

this one will require the ball to go down the hole in order to score.

nice, i like it. I do think its gonna be hard cuz when u shoot below in the goal it might bounce back

I like it :) Might wanna make it extend a bit in front of the keeper's feet tho.

If ur saying the same thing i'm thinking... i think i already did that in DB-VolleyPit, and it didn't go too well :-/ had a goal that led to 3 different possible goal, 1 of which reset the ball... however, the ball would bounce out almost everytime, or would at least bounce back towards keep and he could catch it just about every time. If that's what u were talking about, u might wanna have some kind of system where the ball triggers a mover that closes off the goal when it enters a volume in the goal, kinda like what defrost does when u hit the middle part of the goal, just a thot ;-)

What he said \o/ Do make sure it's invisible then tho :o

Altho maybe that defeats the purpose x_X

Either way, if your gonna do that, do as ska suggested and look at db-defrost :) It has an attached .u which makes the keep fall down to his death if the ball hits a certain (visible of course) trigger inside the goal.

I dont know if you specifically need to write a seperate .u for this.

i like teh idea... but would the keep be able to go INTO the net part, or have to stay outside since its not a goal till it drops below floor level?

or just make it possible for keepers to cross their own line:P lots of keep own goals, FUN FUN FUN

but yea, maybe this goal should just be done in a map before we can judge

lol....with the players as static meshes that rotate at random, killing every1 in their way??

(like the pool balls which never worked on-line)
